Alliance 24 is an association that organises volunteers to accompany very ill people to the end of their lives. On Tuesday afternoons, they also organise a musician or musicians to go and play for the people in the palliative care unit at Perigueux hospital.
Last week was my first gig there and it went remarkably well. It was easier to move the patients than me, so I set up in the reception area and spent a very pleasant couple of hours entertaining a few of the patients and family members. The staff were, as you might imagine, wonderful—and the whole atmosphere light and happy.
I look forward to playing there again.
